First American Bank and Trust Company of Athens, Georgia, has entered into an agreement with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as receiver to purchase and assume all deposits and borrowings for Mountain Heritage Bank, Clayton and Dillard, Georgia.
All Mountain Heritage Bank deposits are being assumed by First American with no losses to any depositor.
Mountain Heritage Bank’s branches located at 550 Hwy. 441 South in Clayton and 7199 Hwy. 441 North in Dillard reopened Monday, June 27th as branches of First American. Customers will be able to access their funds via check, online banking, ATM or debit card transaction. Customers, both new and existing, will continue to bank as they always have while operations are merged.
